Lawyer

For over twenty five years, Eric Seifert has consistently practiced law in the service of ensuring that the laws are enforced and adjudicated with fairness, equality, and without predisposition to wealth and power as a matter of course. After first cutting his teeth as a New York City public defender and as an associate with the zealous civil rights champion, Michael Hardy, Eric Seifert has subsequently developed the craft of persuasively communicating through negotiation, contracts, pleadings, the courtroom, and appeal, the imperatives of fairness, justice and civil virtue such that those who had been taken advantage of and otherwise wronged, are restored to both financial and relational wholeness.

In taking seriously the law's promise of being the 'great equalizer,' Eric Seifert wholeheartedly promises to represent your interests with dignity, respect and zealous perseverance. While monetary damages are most imperative in achieving redress for the harms and losses incurred, it is equally imperative that the experience of seeking justice and wholeness be one of restoring integrity, respect and empowerment.

Eric Seifert's holds a license to practice law from the State of New York but engages in a nationwide practice by seeking and obtaining the necessary pro hoc status in order to litigate righteous claims wherever they may occur.

Mediator

Parallel to utilizing litigation as a means of bringing about a more just and equitable world, Eric Seifert has simultaneously looked to mediation as a means of resolving conflict wherein the parties  speak for themselves without lawyers as intermediaries. As harms run deeper than any monetary  compensation can reach, mediation provides for not only the resolution of the conflict, but allows for the kind of healing that can only arise after directly expressing the harms, losses, and emotional impact directly to the offending party. While extremely challenging, a face to face encounter with the offender in the same room truly provides a heightened degree of closure and a palpable expression of  justice restored.

While in the best of all possible worlds, mediation would be a necessary and required component of any litigation, it is now an alternative to litigation. If that is a viable path to resolving your conflict, please contact Eric Seifert to serve as your  mediator who will bring to the table ample experience as a community mediator, victim/offender facilitator, and group conflict mediator. While all legal issues are redressable by mediation, issues such as separation, divorce, landlord/tenant, family land and inheritance disputes, corporate and partnership dissension, accounts payable/receivable, contractor/homeowner disputes, property boundary disputes, etc., have proven to be more amendable to mediation than costly and protracted litigation.
